Sales Upload Tutorial

Sales Upload is Here!

This new Doorcounts feature will eliminate redundant sales data entry for companies that do not have an API connection to their point-of-sale system. Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to implement this new feature.

Step 1: Enable Sales Data Mapping

  • The first thing that you will need to do is reach out to us so that we can enable this feature for you. The best way to do this is to reply to the "October 2021 Doorcounts Update" Email, which you should have received on Oct. 20th, 2021.

Step 2: Enter New Sales

  • When a salesperson makes a sale, they now no longer need to fill out redundant information that was already entered into the POS system. The information circled in red no longer needs to be entered. Only the first and last name are required***
  • Be sure that the Sale Order # is the same as the one from your POS system.

Step 3: Download POS File

  • To get started, you will need to download a CSV file from your POS system to your computer.  You can do this by going into your POS system and downloading any sales report. Be sure to download it as a CSV file.

Step 4: Upload POS File to Doorcounts

  • On your Doorcounts account, go to "Admin" then go to "Sales Data Mapping"
  • Click on "Choose File" and select the CSV file that you wish to sync with Doorcounts and then click "next".

Step 5: Map the Columns

  • You will only have to do this step one time, it will then automatically format everything for you.
  • Make sure that your source column and your target column are matched up. ***video?
  • When you are satisfied with the way your columns are mapped, click "save".
  • You will now be able to see the results of your mapping. Be sure that things are the way you want them and then click "Close".

Step 6:

  • After successfully mapping your POS file, a new bottom should appear on the "Floorboard" page.
  • Click on this new "Upload" button. You will be taken to a new page. Click "Choose File".
  • Upload your daily at the end of the day.
  • Review and correct any "failed records" by entering any data that is missing. Then save those records.
  • Click "Finish".

Done!

  • When you look at a sale that has been made, you should now see that the information has transferred from your POS system to Doorcounts!
  • This process can be repeated ... (do they have to do this every day?)
  • If you are having trouble with this process, please reach out to us at support@doorcounts.com
  • Should I add the Doug Video at the end? https://www.screencast.com/t/nkFAJeqVYU
